My Experience with Houston Motors Auction Auctions

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm a first-time buyer considering Houston Motors Auction for a repossessed vehicle. I've been browsing their site, houstonmotorsauction.com, and the prices look really good, almost too good. I'm a bit nervous about buying a car online without seeing it first. Has anyone here actually bought from them? Is Houston Motors Auction legit or should I be worried? Looking for some honest feedback before I place a bid.

You're in the right place to ask. I've bought two trucks from Houston Motors Auction over the last three years. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The descriptions are accurate and the process is straightforward. It's a legit operation.

Yep, I can vouch for them too. Got a 2019 Ford F-150 last year. I was also skeptical, but the whole thing was smooth. The vehicle was exactly as listed on houstonmotorsauction.com. Just do your diligence and read the inspection reports they provide.

I'll be the one to mention a small hiccup. The delivery of my Honda CR-V was delayed by a couple of days. I was getting a bit antsy. The car arrived on a Thursday instead of the scheduled Tuesday. However, to be fair, they kept me updated on the new ETA.

@FirstTimer_Alex Oh absolutely. The car was perfect, exactly as described in the report on the houstonmotorsauction.com website. The delay was just a logistics thing. Annoying, but not a deal-breaker. I'd still buy from Houston Motors Auction again because the value was unbeatable.

Delays are common with any vehicle transport company, it's not specific to Houston Motors Auction. A friend of mine bought a project car from them and had me check it out on arrival. It was in the exact condition they advertised. As a mechanic, I was impressed with the accuracy of their listing.

I was most worried about the paperwork. But honestly, it was the easiest part. I was worried about the title, but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the car during delivery. No chasing it down or anything.

It's not just cars. I found a great deal on a Sea Ray boat on houstonmotorsauction.com. Saved a ton of money. The bidding process was easy to follow. Had a query and emailed office@houstonmotorsauction.com, they got back to me pretty quickly and cleared it up.

I found the bidding part a little confusing at first. My advice is to read the FAQ on the website (houstonmotorsauction.com) before you start. Once I did that, it made sense. Their customer support was patient when I called, even though the agent seemed a bit rushed.

@FirstTimer_Alex echoing what JenK said. No issues with the title at all. Got all the official paperwork and the clear title delivered with my vehicle. That was a huge relief and shows Houston Motors Auction is a real business.

My wife loves the Honda CR-V we won from them. Had one very minor cosmetic scratch that wasn't obvious in the photos, but for the price we paid, we're not complaining. It's a 4-year-old used car, after all. Overall, a great experience with Houston Motors Auction.

This is all incredibly helpful, thank you everyone. It seems the consensus is that Houston Motors Auction is a solid choice, with maybe a minor operational hiccup here and there like a delivery delay, which is understandable. The feedback on the titles is especially reassuring.
